Sawn cypress and pine in the full range of standard sizes, cut at the mill. Both run a 2-inch series from 2x2 up to 12x2 and a 1-inch series from 2x1 to 8x1 — workable softwood for roofing, framing, formwork and joinery.

Sizes are width by thickness in nominal sawn inches, the way timber is quoted in Kenya. Cypress and pine are cut to the same sizes.

What sizes of cypress timber do you sell?
Twelve standard sizes: 2x2, 3x2, 4x2, 6x2, 8x2, 10x2 and 12x2, plus 1-inch boards in 2x1, 3x1, 4x1, 6x1 and 8x1. Pine is sawn to the same twelve sizes.
What does 4 by 2 mean?
A 4 by 2 (written 4x2 or 4*2) is a piece of timber 4 inches wide and 2 inches thick, about 100 x 50 mm. Timber sizes in Kenya are quoted this way, width by thickness, in nominal sawn inches.
How is timber sold?
By the linear (running) foot, cut to the lengths you ask for rather than a fixed stock length, so there is less waste to pay for.

Where is the sawmill, and do you deliver?
The mill is in Elburgon, Molo, Nakuru County, open Monday to Saturday, 8am – 5pm. Orders are loaded for collection or delivered countrywide.
About our cypress & pine timber
Cypress is the working softwood of the Kenyan building trade and the mainstay of this mill. Logs are broken down on the saw line at Elburgon and stacked by size in the yard, so what you order is cut stock you can walk up to and look at before it is loaded.
The 2-inch series runs 2x2, 3x2, 4x2, 6x2, 8x2, 10x2 and 12x2. Between them they cover most of what a building needs: 2x2 for ceiling brandering and light framing, 3x2 and 4x2 for rafters, roof trusses, wall plates and door frames, 6x2 and 8x2 where the span or the load asks for more depth, and 10x2 and 12x2 for beams, staircase strings and formwork that has to stay flat under pressure.
The 1-inch series — 2x1 through 8x1 — is the lighter stock: battens, noggins, fascia boards, shuttering and the general boxing that gets used and re-used across a site.
Pine is the newest line at the mill, sawn to the same twelve sizes as the cypress and sold the same way. It is a pale softwood widely used for framing, ceilings, shelving and joinery, and a cutting list can be priced in either species or split between the two.
Timber is sold by the linear foot and cut to the lengths you ask for rather than to a fixed stock length, so there is less waste to pay for. If you are working from a cutting list, send the list as it stands and we will price the whole lot together.
